Leport et al. 2007¶
These are simulation setups designed to replicate the tests carried out by Leport et al. (2007). The full reference is provided at the end of this document.
Known issues¶
- Excessive sliding energy was discovered in this setup. While it was roughly halved with the updates in the present v0.1.3, several modifications targeted at reducing it further are currently being tested and will be released subsequently. However, no major influence on the HBM response is expected.
PMHS reference data overview¶
There are variants of the hub setups, which are documented by Leport et al. 2007. The setups differ in terms of impact speed and impactor form. The table below provides an overview of the test.
| Subject | Impactor impact order | Impactor test # | Impact velocity (m/s) | Mini sled impact order | Mini sled test # | Mini sled velocity (m/s) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 571 | 1st | IMP550 | 5.1 | 2nd | PCHI1740 | 4.0 |
| 574 | 1st | IMP558 | 3.5 | 2nd | PCHI1748 | 3.3 |
| 575 | 1st | IMP559 | 3.7 | 2nd | PCHI1749 | 3.4 |
| 576 | 1st | IMP560 | 3.9 | 2nd | PCHI1750 | 3.3 |
| 577 | 1st | IMP561 | 3.7 | 2nd | PCHI1751 | 3.5 |
| 579 | 1st | IMP562 | 3.5 | 2nd | PCHI1756 | 3.4 |
| 583 | 2nd | IMP563 | 3.8 | 1st | PCHI1777 | 3.5 |
| 585 | 2nd | IMP564 | 3.8 | 1st | PCHI1776 | 3.5 |
The characteristics of all PMHS used in these tests are provided in the table below.
| Subject Number | Weight (kg) | Height (cm) | Age (yrs) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 571 | 75 | 167 | 79 |
| 574 | 80 | 167 | 75 |
| 575 | 59 | 156 | 72 |
| 576 | 80 | 176 | 73 |
| 577 | 66 | 162 | 76 |
| 579 | 55 | 159 | 87 |
| 583 | 77 | 172 | 82 |
| 585 | 64 | 158 | 89 |
| Average | 69.5 | 166 | 79.1 |
Instructions¶
Follow the General Instructions for setting up your simulations. Make sure that all required outputs are available in the simulation output files (e.g. binout when using LS-Dyna) in an appropriate time frequency!
Detailed guides with illustrations is provided in Documentation_Hub.pdf and Documentation_Minisled.pdf.
Please report all new issues you encounter.
