Yoganandan 1997¶
These are simulation setups designed to replicate the impactor tests carried out by Yoganandan et al. (1997). The full reference is provided at the end of this document.
PMHS reference data overview¶

| PMHS 7 | M | 83 | 178 | 68 |
| average | 72 | 172 | 74.7 |
Instructions¶
Follow the General Instructions for setting up your simulations. Make sure that all required outputs are available in the simulation output files (e.g. binout) in an appropriate time frequency!
A detailed guide with illustrations is provided in Documentation.pdf.
Please report all new issues you encounter.

Loadcase specific outputs¶
Time-history data:
- Energies
- Total energy
- Internal energy
- Kinetic energy
- Hourglass energy
- Added mass (when using mass scaling)
- Percent increase of added mass
- Contact forces
- Contact force between HBM and hub
- Hub
- Displacement (x in local coordinate hub system)
- HBM
- X, Y, and Z displacements of three nodes in the axis of hub loading (one at the skin, one at the ribs and one at the vertebra)
- Relevant strain data for each rib over time

The setups available here were created by the Vehicle Safety Institute at Graz University of Technology to be HBM-neutral. This work was funded by Euro NCAP.
The Jupyter notebook is loosely based on the notebook for the Viano 1998 loadcase from the VIVA+ validation catalogue, which was prepared by Corina Klug.
